Actisense NDC-4 NMEA Multeplexer

The NBF-2 Buffer is required wherever an NMEA source cannot provide sufficient power to drive all the equipment that requires the NMEA data it supplies. It is also ideal for safely interfacing an on board PC to all the NMEA equipment on board a vessel, while providing total Opto-isolation between every device.
  Due to the
ISO-Drive output, the buffer may also be used where a ground loop problem needs solving, and means that it is not necessary to use supply isolators to achieve isolation between two data sources.
Designed for buffering data from all NMEA source types (RS422, RS485 and RS232), including direct connection to a PC RS232 output, this buffer produces an amplified copy on each of its 6
ISO-Drive outputs
Electrical spike protection is provided as standard on the buffer's input using full galvanic Opto-isolation to provide superior protection to the NMEA source device. The NBF-2 input exceeds all the requirements of the latest NMEA 0183 specification.
Simple to use, high quality screw connectors that are angled to allow easy access, make wiring up the NMEA Buffer a simple task.

Actisense NBF-2 NMEA Buffer

100W peak depth power enables a maximum depth range of 200m or 660 feet under optimum conditions (proven with Airmar transducers). 150 KHz & 200 KHz depth transducer frequencies are available to match most existing transducers. For enhanced interference rejection (from other sounders), a 235 KHz capable module is also available.
Log transducer and temperature thermistor interfaces allow additional data to be provided over the NMEA data stream, giving a cable saving. Easy reprogramming of the DST module’s software is possible, to include the very latest software enhancements or customisations.
The DST module’s data interface is configured for NMEA 0183, but can operate as a fully bi-directional RS485 interface for customised applications, such as an on-board multiple depth sounder network.

Any problematic or unwanted NMEA sentences can be filtered out / blocked, to help intelligently reduce the NMEA data to a manageable amount and prevent data loops

Each NMEA input device is Opto-isolated from all other NMEA device in the system

Significant reductions in installation cost (from reduced cable lengths and requiring only one NMEA cable to be routed around the bridge to supply the multiplexed NMEA data

The NDC-4 has two ISO-Drive outputs which are fully compatible with all standards: NMEA 0183 (RS422), RS485 and PC RS232 ports.

Actisense USG-1 USB to NMEA 0183

The USG-1 provides comprehensive isolation of the expensive PC hardware when connecting to an NMEA 0183 (RS422) bus that may have picked up potentially hazardous voltages around the electrically noisy environment of a vessel or factory, and makes installation simple due to the isolation of the PC ground from the NMEA 0183 data network ground, often the biggest cause of data errors and one of the biggest safety hazards in any electronic installation.
No external power supply is required as the cable takes all necessary power from the USB port. Simple installation using plug & play USB drivers supplied on CD allows the PC to start sending and receiving data to the NMEA 0183 data network within minutes of installation.

Multiplex or Autoswitch up to 5 NMEA devices to your PC, Chart-plotter, Radar, Autopilot and more, with NMEA 0183 HS compatibility and ISO-Drive ...

This Actisense™ NMEA Multiplexer / Combiner allows connection of up to five NMEA (National Marine Electronics Association) inputs, and multiplexes / combines or autoswitches them to its two fully isolated NMEA outputs.

This approach offers these major advantages:

Completely removes the need for isolated power supplies - as the NDC-4 creates a full 2500v isolation barrier between it's inputs and each of it's ISO-Drive outputs

Enables the vessel owner complete access to all NMEA data sources, instead of the standard one device

World first: The power to drive up to six NMEA devices, with the safety of total input and output isolation, for total peace of mind ...

The Actisense™ NMEA Buffer module is the best solution for buffering weak NMEA sources, allowing NMEA devices to be driven, such as chart plotters, radars, and/or an on-board PC / Laptop.
  The very latest
Actisense™ ISO-Drive technology has been added to the NBF-2 so that now each output is separately isolated from each other and from the power supply, making this a world first at this price point and the safest buffer on the market.

Breathe new smart digital life into your old or new transducers, with this NMEA depth, speed & temperature digital signal processor ...

The Actisense™ Active Depth/Speed/Temperature module is the best solution for interfacing standard analogue transducers and NMEA 0183 compatible chart plotters, radars, and on-board laptop PC’s.
Designed for use with most existing analogue transducers already fitted to a vessel, or new analogue transducers. Our industry proven depth sounder algorithm has the best-in-class seabed tracking, and when in conjunction with a good quality depth transducer, can track the seabed down to 0.3m or 1 foot (proven with Airmar transducers).

Connect your data network to your PC USB port with full electrical isolation...

The Actisense™ USG-1 interface is an easy, safe and low-cost method of connecting a marine NMEA 0183 system to a USB equipped PC. Whilst protecting the most vital and expensive devices in the NMEA 0183 system, it also creates a virtual serial port that allows connection to an NMEA 0183 (RS422) marine bus link.
Total galvanic isolation is assured using an ISO-Drive output and the use of the trusted Actisense OPTO isolated input circuitry.

The ISO-Drive output offers total galvanic isolation from the input and can "float" safely up to 1500 VDC from ground. Its sophisticated circuitry is 100% compatible with the NMEA 0183 RS422, industrial RS485 and single-ended PC RS232 "COM" ports.
